Part I: Pattern Import

Purpose:
Import pattern pieces into the 2D window.
Operation Path:
File ➡️ Import ➡️ Import DXF File
Operation Instructions:
You may also import DXF files by dragging‑and‑dropping them into the 2D window.
Import Options
Operating Instructions
Load Type
  • Open: Open the file and overwrite the original project.
  • Add: Import files without overwriting the original project.
Rotate
  • Rotate the content of imported DXF files after opening.
DXF Format
  • Read the DXF document according to its format type. When opening a DXF file, ensure the selected reading format matches the format used when the DXF was saved.
Scale
  • Millimeter / Centimeter / Meter / Foot / Inch (Adjustable by percentage).
  • Auto‑Scale: When checked, the system detects units automatically and adjusts scale accordingly.
Grading Rule
  • Read files based on corresponding grading rules from DXF or RUL files.
Encoding
  • If imported text appears garbled, try changing the encoding method.
  • For users unsure of system encoding, manually try UTF‑8 and GBK.
  • Traditional‑Chinese Gerber users with character‑display issues may resolve the problem by selecting BIG5 encoding.
Import Seam Allowance
  • Enable this option to import seam allowance together with DXF content.
Import Pattern Annotation
  • Enable this option to import pattern annotations from the DXF during import.
Auto‑add Curve Points Grading
  • Enable this option to automatically apply grading to curve points on imported pattern pieces.
Optimize All Curve Points
  • Enable this option to reorganize edge curve points and reduce total point count.
Auto Distribute
  • Enable this option for automatic pattern‑piece distribution.
  • Rearrange: Pattern pieces will be redistributed.
  • Avoid Overlap: Auto‑distributed pattern pieces will not overlap.
Reverse Grain Line
  • Enable this option to reverse the grain‑line direction of imported patterns.
Auto Trace as Internal Lines
  • Enable this option to auto‑trace base lines as internal lines.
Copy Cutting Notch to Sewing Line
  • Enable this option to copy seam‑allowance notches onto the pattern sewing line. This is especially useful when notches exist only on seam allowance but not on the sewing line.
Reducing Turn Points (Smoothing Points)
  • Enable this option to reduce turn‑point quantity. This helps handle older CAD‑generated DXF files that export only corner points and omit some curve points, such as files exported from Lectra.
Fix Sewline
  • Enable this option to align extra CAD‑generated seam‑allowance data with actual sewing‑line positions.
Distinguish Fabric by Material
  • Enable this option to create new fabrics according to fabric names contained within the imported DXF.
Reset
  • Reset all above settings back to factory defaults.

Part II: Pattern Editing

I. Home Tab

Select / Move

Purpose:
Select pattern pieces and perform operations on them.
Operation Path:
Home ➡️ Select / Move
Operation Instructions:
  • Selection: Click to select a pattern piece. Hold Shift and click or drag‑select to select multiple pattern pieces.
  • Move: After selecting the pattern piece, hold down the left‑mouse button and drag to move it.

Right‑Click Menu for Selected Pattern Pieces

Operation Path:
Home ➡️ Select / Move ➡️ Select internal shapes ➡️ Right‑click Menu
Tool
Purpose
Instance Pattern
  • Generate another pattern piece mirrored from the current one. The two pieces maintain a linked relationship.
  • Linked relationship means any modification on one side will trigger corresponding changes on the other side.
Create Lining
  • Generate a copy of the current pattern piece to be used as lining or outer fabric.
Create Internal Shape by Outline
  • Clone pattern piece into an internal‑shape graphic.
Create Internal Shape by Outline and Sew
  • Select the pattern piece, right‑click and choose 'Create Internal Shape by Outline' , then click the target position for the new internal shape.
Clone as Reference Line
  • Generate reference lines based on current sewing lines and internal lines for pattern‑editing reference.
Deactivate
  • Deactivated pattern pieces skip simulation and collision calculation; they remain unchanged even if visible in the 3D window.
Freeze
  • Frozen pattern pieces will not deform when colliding with other pieces.
Strengthen
  • Harden pattern pieces during simulation to quickly obtain flat results; suitable for simulating stiff fabrics.
Solidify
  • Solidify the pattern piece to its current shape. It will no longer undergo major shape changes after simulation‑collision.
Offset Pattern Outline
  • Expand or reduce pattern seam allowance by an offset distance.
Add Internal Isoline
  • Generate internal lines parallel to the outer outline of current pattern piece.
Add Random Vertical Internal Lines
  • Generate a set of approximately‑vertical internal lines on the selected line.
Select Patterns with Same Specified Properties
  • Quickly select other pattern pieces that share identical specified properties.
Create New Fabric
  • Rapidly assign new fabric to selected pattern
Replace Pattern from DXF
  • Update and replace selected pattern pieces after editing in external CAD software. Sewing relationships are preserved to avoid re‑editing seams and improve revision efficiency.
Apply new pattern
  • Revise and replace selected pattern pieces. Positions and sewing connections remain intact, no reseaming required for higher revision efficiency.
Attach To
  • Attach selected pattern piece onto another pattern piece.
Group
  • Group multiple pattern pieces together for organized management.
Align
  • Align selected pattern pieces for tidy 2D‑view layout.
Order
  • Adjust the display order of pattern pieces in the 2D window.
Lock
  • Lock specified pattern pieces so only unlocked pieces can be edited.
Flip/Rotate
  • Flip or rotate pattern pieces. Flip updates synchronously in 3D view; rotation does not sync to 3D.
Hide Patterns in 3D Window
  • Hide pattern pieces so they become invisible inside the 3D window.
Copy/Paste
  • Generate one or more copies with identical shape as current pattern piece.
Delete
  • Delete one or multiple selected pattern pieces.
Mirror Paste
  • Generate a mirrored copy of current pattern shape.

Edit Pattern Piece

Purpose:
Select pattern pieces to edit their lines and points.
Operation Path:
Home ➡️ Edit Pattern Piece ➡️ Select internal shapes ➡️ Right‑click Menu
Line tool
Purpose
Split
  • Add points and split selected edges into multiple segments.
Add Point to Intersection
  • Generate vertices at intersections between the selected edge and other edges.
Offset Pattern Outline
  • Offset partial pattern sewing lines outward by a set distance while keeping remaining sewing lines unchanged.
Change Length
  • Modify the length of the selected line.
Add as Measurement Line
  • Mark the selected line as a measurement line.
Add Trims Along the Line
  • Add trims along the selected line.
Create Internal Shape by Outline
  • Clone internal shapes inside the pattern based on selected inner or outer edges.
Add Internal Isoline
  • Generate internal lines parallel to the selected edge.
Add Random Vertical Internal Lines
  • Create a set of approximately‑vertical internal lines on the selected line.
Duplicated as Mirrored Internal Line
  • Generate a mirrored‑symmetric internal line for the selected internal line.
Create Guideline
  • Create a guideline at the current mouse position for pattern‑editing reference.
  • Guidelines provide snap effect for vertices when edges or vertices are being moved.
Lock
  • Lock selected line segments during line editing so only other lines can be modified.
Paste/Delete Edge
  • Generate one or more copies with identical shape as the selected segment.
  • Delete one or multiple selected lines.
  • Sewing‑line edges can be deleted but cannot be copied. Deletion will fail if it causes the outline to self‑intersect.
Point Tool
Purpose
Add Notch
  • Add a notch at the selected point.
Convert to Curve Point
  • Convert the selected point into a curve point while preserving the curve shape on both sides of the point as much as possible.
Change Angle
  • Adjust the angle of the selected point.
Create Guideline
  • Create a guideline at the current mouse position for pattern‑editing reference.
  • Guidelines produce a snap effect for vertices when edges or vertices are moved.
Lock
  • Make the point unselectable in the 2D view.
Delete Point
  • Delete the selected point.

Edit Curve

Purpose
Adjust the shape of curves.
Operation Path
Home ➡️ Edit Curve / Edit Arc / Miter Smooth / Create Fillet
Tool
Purpose
Edit Curve
  • Adjust the shape of curve.
Edit Arc
  • Modify the radian and arc of curves.
Edit Corner
  • Simulate and verify or revise the joined shape of two curves after stitching.
Round Corner
  • Multi‑select or box‑select endpoints, then drag the smoothing control to achieve multi‑point corner smoothing.
Right‑click Menu for Curve Editing
  • Optimize Curve Points: Adjust the quantity of curve points on segments for proper distribution.
  • Convert to End Point: Convert curve points into edge endpoints.
  • Delete / Remove All Curve Points: Delete curve points on selected segments to straighten curves.

Pen

Purpose
Draw lines directly on the avatar, and convert closed shapes formed by drawn lines into pattern pieces.

Home / Pattern ➡️ Edit Pattern Piece
Operation Instructions
  • Draw lines on the avatar with the Pen tool. Hold Ctrl to add curve points while drawing, and hold Shift to draw horizontal or vertical lines.
  • Lines drawn on the avatar must not intersect one another.
  • Use the Edit Pattern Piece tool to select multiple end‑to‑end connected edges. Double‑click an edge to select the full loop of avatar lines it belongs to.
  • Press the ' Enter ' key to generate the corresponding pattern piece.

Graphic Tools

Purpose
Perform operations such as drawing shapes, adding darts and points on pattern pieces to modify pattern geometry.
Operation Path
Home ➡️ Rectangle / Oval / Internal Dart / Dart / Spiral / Add Point / Notch / Punch Point
Graphic Tools
Purpose
Rectangle
  • Generate rectangular or oval pattern pieces or inner shapes.
Oval
  • Create cut‑out structure for internal dart inside the pattern piece.
Dart
  • Create pointed dart structure on the outer outline of the pattern piece.
Spiral
  • Generate spiral‑shaped pattern piece.
Add Point
  • Add vertices to line segments / split one line into two segments.
Notch
  • Add, move and edit notches on the sewing edge.
Drill
  • Add drill marker points.

Pleat

Purpose:
Create pleat structures on pattern pieces.
Operation Path:
Home ➡️ Pleat
Operation Instructions:
  • After selecting the [Pleat] tool, follow the on‑screen prompts:
  • Select the start point on the insertion sewing edge.
  • Select the end point on the insertion sewing edge.
  • Select the side where the pleat will be inserted.
  • The [Add Pleat] pop‑up window will appear.
Parameter Description:
Category
Full Pleat
  • Refers to a pleat structure sewn and fixed from pleat top to pleat bottom. The entire pleat section cannot open and lies flat against the pattern piece.
Half One Pleat
  • The pleat has a sewn segment starting from the top for shape retention, while the middle‑lower section opens freely. The sewn segment controls pattern shape; the top end is fixed and the bottom hangs loosely.
Center Pleat
  • A pleat formed in the middle of a garment pattern piece. Its middle section is sewn to retain pleat shape, while the top and bottom ends stay open.
Type
Knife Pleat
  • Folds in one direction; all pleat edges neatly face the same side.
Inner Box Pleat
  • Two‑way inward folding. Surface stays flat with pleats hidden inside.
Outer Box Pleat
  • Two‑way outward folding with raised centre; pleats are visible on outer face.
Number
  • Refers to the number of pleats.
Interval
  • Refers to the spacing between each pleat. Lock upper & lower edges to adjust together, or unlock them to set spacing separately for top and bottom.
Width
  • Refers to the size of each pleat. Lock upper & lower edges for consistent pleat size top‑to‑bottom, or unlock to adjust top and bottom pleat sizes independently.
Length
  • Refers to the length of pleat lines.
Offset
  • Refers to the offset distance from both ends of the pleat to the adjacent sewing edges.
Tool
Purpose
Pleat Fold
  • Quickly set fold angles for pleat internal lines.
Pleat Sewing
  • Quick‑sew for pleat structures.
  • Fast generate sewing lines for many regular pleats; not for other cases.

Trace Outline

Purpose:
Trace internal lines to generate pattern pieces and sew them automatically.
Operation Path :
Trace Outline ➡️ Select the internal line, right‑click ➡️ Trace to Pattern Piece and Sew
Operation Instructions:
  • Select the Trace Outline tool on the toolbar, pick the target internal lines, right‑click, then click Trace to Pattern Piece and Sew.
  • After tracing, move the new pattern piece outward first, otherwise simulation will crash.
  • fter tracing‑and‑sewing, the generated pattern piece will be placed far away from the main pattern.

Stretch Tool

Stretch‑Point
Purpose:
Split the pattern piece into two parts and rotate one section.
Operation Path:
Home ➡️ Stretch‑Point
Operation Instructions:
After activating the tool, select the start point of the split line ➡️ select the end point of the split line ➡️ choose the pattern section to rotate ➡️ (right‑click while dragging) enter moving distance / rotation angle and confirm.

Stretch‑Segment

Purpose:
Perform grading‑like expansion on the sewing edge of one side of the pattern piece. Keep the fixed‑side length unchanged, and add length to the expanded side.
Operation Path:
Home ➡️ Stretch‑Segment
Operation Instructions:
After activating the tool, click to select the start and end points of the fixed side, then the start and end points of the expandable side. Control expansion‑insertion or contraction value in the pop‑up input box; negative values are supported.

Seam Allowance

Purpose:
Set seam‑allowance data for pattern pieces for production output.
Operation Path:
Home ➡️ Seam Allowance
Operation Instructions:
  • Click on pattern sewing edges to assign seam allowance.
  • Adjust seam‑allowance width and corner type in the Property Editor.
  • Box‑select pattern pieces to quickly generate seam allowance for selected pieces.
  • Right‑click in empty area of 2D view; the context menu provides the function to auto‑add seam allowance to all pattern pieces.
  • When setting seam allowance for DXF‑imported patterns, existing seam allowances will be removed in current version.
  • In Settings, configure the default auto‑generated seam‑allowance width for shapes including polygons, rectangles and ovals.

Annotation

Purpose:
Insert or edit annotations on pattern pieces.
Operation Path:
Home ➡️ Annotation
Operation Instructions:
  • Click blank area of the pattern piece to insert an annotation.
  • Click the pattern sewing edge to place annotations along the edge, which can be used for production processes such as heat transfer printing.
  • Select an annotation, then edit its content, rotation angle and font size (mm) in the right‑hand Property Editor.
  • Double‑click to edit annotation text directly.

Grading

Purpose:
Allow users to grade pattern pieces, graphics, buttons, buttonholes and zippers, add new sizes and assign size names.

Home ➡️ Size ➡️ Grading ➡️ “+” ➡️

II. 2D Window

(1) 2D Floating Bar

Tool Description:
  • The 2D pop‑up button in the window includes four modules: Fabric, 2D Color, Pattern and Length.
  • Each module controls a distinct set of information.
  • Click the left‑side arrow to show or hide the 2D pop‑up panel.

Fabric

Purpose:
Control four display options within the 2D Window: Texture Surface 2D, Mesh 2D, Cloth Translucent 2D, Grain Line 2D.
Operation Path:
2D Floating Bar ➡️ Fabric
Function Description:
Textured Surface(2D)
When enabled, fabric textures are displayed in the 2D Window.
When disabled, fabrics are shown in the default style.
Mesh( 2D)
When enabled, mesh vertices that form the pattern pieces are displayed in the 2D Window.
Translucent Cloth(2D)
When enabled, pattern pieces are rendered in translucent style so overlapping sections can be viewed.
Grainline(2D)
When enabled, fabric grain‑direction lines are visible in the 2D Window.
Random Color(2D)
When enabled, random colors are applied to pattern in the 2D Window.

2D Color

Purpose:
Control the color‑style display of pattern pieces in the 2D Window.
Operation Path:
2D Window ➡️ Color
Function Description:
Show 2D Colors
When enabled, colors for all 2D pattern pieces are displayed; when disabled, colors are hidden.
Snap
Pink indicator lines will be shown.
Link
Linked pattern segments are connected by orange line segments.
Elasticity
When elasticity is enabled, segments are displayed in green.
Fold
Different fold angles correspond to different colors. By default: green for 0°, blue for 180°, red for 360°.
Fix Pin
When enabled, yellow fix‑pin points are shown on the mesh.
Bonding&Seam Tape
When enabled, bonded areas are filled and highlighted in pink.

Pattern

Purpose:
Control various information display of pattern pieces in the 2D Window.
Operation Path:
2D Window ➡️ Pattern
Function Description:
Pattern Name
When enabled, it displays DXF pattern piece names together with their assigned fabric style names, sourced from the Name field in the DXF file.
Pattern Annotation
When enabled, annotations placed on pattern pieces are displayed.
Internal Line 2D
When enabled, internal lines of 2D pattern pieces are shown.
Baseline 2D
When enabled, baseline lines of 2D pattern pieces are displayed.
Sewing Line 2D
When enabled, sewing‑connection relationships between 2D pattern pieces are visible.
Seam Allowance
When enabled, seam‑allowance outlines of pattern pieces are shown.
Grading
When enabled, grading information for pattern pieces is displayed.

Length

Purpose:
Auxiliary function: display and measure dimension data for pattern edges or graphics within the 2D view.
Operation Path:
2D Window ➡️ Length
Function Description:
Edge Length
Display the length of all edges on pattern pieces.
Ruler
When enabled, length rulers are displayed along the borders of the 2D Window.
Guideline
Used for pattern positioning. Positioning guide lines can be generated by clicking points on lines, or dragged directly from the ruler to position pattern pieces. Guide lines are shown in pink.
Size Measurement
Measure the length of selected pattern edges. You may also view length data of selected edges for different sizes in the displayed table.
Magnetic Distance
Provides auto‑snap when moving or creating new points on pattern edges and internal lines. Snap points are displayed according to the preset fixed snap distance, and snap points are highlighted in bright red.
(Note: Enable Smart Snap and Snap to Edge before using this feature.)

(2) Menu in 2D Window (Right‑Click Blank Area)

Purpose:
Quick‑access to frequently‑used tools in the 2D view, including Guide, Hide, Lock, Paste and other functions.
Operation Path:
Select / Move ➡️Edit Pattern ➡️ 2D Window ➡️ Right‑click blank area
Tool
Purpose
Smart Guide
  • Controls whether selected elements snap to patterns, points and lines in the scene while being moved or modified.
Snap to Edge
  • Controls whether elements align with original horizontal or vertical lines during movement or creation.
Select Unsewn Patterns
  • Quick‑select redundant patterns that have not been sewn in the project.
  • Deleting unused patterns helps organize pattern content in the current view.
Optimize All Curve Points
  • Optimize curve points according to curve‑fitting tolerance or point quantity.
Focus Panorama
  • Reposition the camera in the 2D Window so all content is visible.
Refresh Texture
  • Allow users to synchronize updated images into the system.
Remove All Baselines
  • Delete all baselines on patterns (purple segments on 2D patterns).
Reset All Patterns
  • Reset the initial position of all patterns to restore them to their original locations.
Hide All 3D Patterns
  • Quickly hide or show all patterns in the 3D view.
Lock All Patterns
  • Lock all corresponding elements to prevent them from being moved
  • Unlock them for normal editing.
Lock All Outlines
  • Lock all seam‑allowance edges so they cannot be selected.
Lock All Internal Lines
  • Lock all internal lines so they cannot be selected.
Lock All Draft Lines
  • Lock all guide lines so they cannot be selected.
Lock All Guidelines
  • Hide all guide lines so they are invisible in the 2D viewport.
Paste
  • Paste new patterns or segments after copying patterns or segments.
Mirror Paste
  • Paste copied patterns or segments with left‑right mirror flipping on paste.

III. Pattern Property Editing Window

Editing Tools
Pourpose
Simulation Properties
  • Adjust the simulation performance of selected pattern pieces in the 3D viewport to achieve the desired visual result.
Fabric
  • Adjust fabric properties applied to selected patterns.
Pattern Status
  • Modify status parameters for selected pattern pieces.
Bonding/Skiving
  • Bonding and Skiving are mutually‑exclusive functions. By default, enabling one will automatically disable and collapse the other.
Edge Properties
  • Set visual effects for pattern edges.
Miscellaneous
  • Adjust pattern mesh type, pattern thickness, number of mesh faces, vertex count, pattern area and 3D‑related information.
