Pants production method
I. Style Analysis
The first step of garment modeling is to examine the overall appearance of the target garment and identify all critical details that require attention:
Upon inspection, the trousers feature pleats, belt loops and buttons. During production, you need to master how to fasten the buttons, create pleat lines, and sew on the belt loops.
II. Pattern Placement
When arranging pattern pieces, take care to prevent the panels from colliding with one another or sinking into the mannequin. After positioning all pattern pieces at their designated spots, adjust the spacing between panels, as well as the gap between each panel and the mannequin according to actual needs.
Before After
Select the corresponding pattern pieces, then adjust their X and Y axes as well as the spacing accordingly.
Placement of Pocket Lining
General layout of all pattern pieces after arrangement
The belt loops and small panels on the trouser legs can be positioned and sewn after the sewing simulation of the main trouser body is completed.
III. Pattern Sewing
When performing sewing operations, ensure all sewing lines follow a consistent direction and run parallel without overlapping within the 3D viewport. Sew and simulate small components such as pocket bags and fly pieces in advance. Prior to simulation, freeze all other pattern pieces and apply hardening to these small panels.

IV. Pattern Simulation
Before launching the simulation, apply hardening to all pattern pieces. This facilitates subsequent adjustments of the panels and prevents the cut pieces from shifting randomly during the sewing simulation.
V. Belt Loops
- Position the belt loops properly, then proceed with sewing.

2. Fold and arrange the belt loops to avoid intersecting stitching lines. This step prevents pattern pieces from clipping through geometry and jittering during simulation.

3. After hardening and running the sewing simulation, adjust the folding layout of the internal lines on the pattern pieces to create natural creases and angles on the panels.

VI. Detail Adjustment
1)Lining
Add lining to the waistband to increase its thickness.

Once the lining has been added successfully, run the pattern simulation.
2) Buttons
Before attaching buttons, gently stretch the pattern pieces until the front and rear sections overlap, then pause the simulation.
Select the Button and Buttonhole tools.
Click the positions on the pattern pieces where buttons and buttonholes need to be placed..
Select the Button Fastening tool first when fastening buttons, then click to pair each button with its corresponding buttonhole.
Once the button hovers right above the buttonhole, run the simulation, and the button will be fastened automatically.
3) Trouser Pleats
Select the trouser pleat lines and set an appropriate fold angle to slightly bend the lines and form trouser pleats.
4) Interfacing
Apply fusible interfacing as required to make the fabric crisp and structured, while also introducing a certain degree of shrinkage.
Before applying fusible interfacing

After applying fusible interfacing
Apply stay tape to all stitching seams of the trousers.

5) Fabric & Topstitch Addition
Remember to run simulation after assigning fabrics. Different fabrics come with distinct physical property parameters.
Add topstitching as needed; you can adjust the style and spacing of topstitch to achieve your desired visual outcome.
