Custom accessories

Purpose:

This feature is used to add custom accessories obtained from unofficial market downloads to the models.  

Rigging/rigid body/chain binding are terms in the CG industry. Binding in this context refers to how an accessory added to a character follows the character's movements. Some accessories only follow the displacement of the character without deformation (rigid body/chain binding), while others follow the displacement and deform with the character (soft body binding).

Operation Path:

Right-click ▶ Convert to Accessory Automatically ▶ Select Category: Hair, Shoes, Other Accessories ▶ Choose Binding Method

 

Binding Methods:

Soft Body Binding

Accessories of this type are often made of fabric, fur, and other similar materials, such as shoes or gloves. For example, when gloves are added to a avatar, they will always be present at the avatar’s hand position but will change shape according to the movements of the avatar’s fingers. Hence, gloves are considered soft body accessories.

Rigid Body Binding

Accessories of this type are often made of plastic, metal blocks, and similar materials, such as watches, earrings, sunglasses, hair clips, etc. For example, when glasses are added to a avatar, they will always be positioned above the avatar’s nose and won’t change shape with the avatar’s facial expressions. Therefore, glasses are considered rigid body accessories.

Chain Binding

Accessories of this type are often made of long, strip-like materials, such as Chinese knots, tassel earrings, chain bags, etc. For example, when a avatar wears a bag with a chain, the bag will hang at the avatar’s hand position but won’t change direction with the rotation or swinging of the avatar’s hand. The bag and chain will always remain vertical to the ground.

Adhesion Point:

The position of the adhesion point is determined by the positioning ball, with the center of the positioning ball serving as the attachment point.
