Clear Coat

发布于:2025-08-13

Purpose:
Simulate the optical and physical characteristics of fabrics that have undergone special coating or surface treatments, such as water-repellent coatings, PU coatings, or metallic foil layers. This allows digital fabrics to reproduce the same visual and tactile qualities as real coated fabrics in both rendering and physical simulation.

Clear Coat Parameters
Color
Determines the color of the coating itself, which can either overlay or blend with the base fabric color. Different coating colors will alter the overall perceived hue of the fabric.
Strength
Controls the prominence of the coating effect. Higher values result in stronger influence on reflection, refraction, and color; lower values produce a look closer to the original uncoated fabric. Value range: [0.00, 1.00].
Coat Glossiness
Controls the surface smoothness or roughness of the coating. Higher smoothness (lower roughness) produces sharper and more defined reflections, creating a high-gloss finish; lower smoothness (higher roughness) softens reflections, yielding a more matte look. Value range: [0.00, 1.00].
IOR
Defines the degree to which light bends when passing through the coating. Different materials have different IOR values (e.g., water ≈ 1.33, glass ≈ 1.5, diamond ≈ 2.4). This can be used to simulate a variety of finishes, from matte waterproof coatings to transparent plastic coatings. Value range: [1.10, 5.00].
Use Base Noemal
Determines whether the coating displays the base fabric’s texture details. When enabled, the coating is semi-transparent or transparent, allowing the weave or printed patterns underneath to remain visible. When disabled, the coating fully covers the base appearance, showing only the coating’s own properties.
