Colorway is a core function in Style3D Studio for managing different color schemes of the same style. With Colorway, designers can quickly create and compare multiple color‑matching schemes within one project file, greatly improving pattern review and style evaluation efficiency.
I. Overview of Colorway Function
A Colorway refers to different color configuration schemes for one garment style. In real‑world apparel development, one style usually comes in multiple color versions (e.g. black, white, red). The Colorway function enables you to manage all color schemes within a single project file.

II. Basic Colorway Operations
- Add Colorway: Click the button
to duplicate the current colorway and create a new one. Right‑click on colorway thumbnails to delete or rename colorways. Click a colorway column, and the 3D viewport will switch to display garments for that colorway.
- Rename / Delete Colorway: Right‑click the colorway preview thumbnail to rename or delete the colorway.
- Update Colorway Preview: Click the "Update button"
to refresh the colorway thumbnail with the current 3D‑viewport result.
- Colorway Render: Click to
jump to the render window and generate a 3D snapshot based on the active colorway.
- Edit Colorway: Click a colorway preview thumbnail to switch to that colorway for editing. Modify colors, fabrics, trims and more in the lower Colorway Editor viewport.
- Colorway Display Style / Size Control:
Click the upper‑right corner to edit. Switch between Large‑Thumbnail Mode and List Mode. Large‑Thumbnail Mode helps users focus on comparing colorway appearances. List Mode is for comparing and adjusting assets across different colorways.
III. Advanced Functions
3.1 Linked Texture Editing for Colorways (V9.0)
Operation Method: Tools ▶ Colorway ▶ Link Fabric Editing
When enabled, textures for all colorways are adjusted simultaneously. When disabled, only the active colorway texture is modified, independent of other colorways.
3.2 View Colorways in Style Browser
The Style Browser displays all colorway schemes on one screen for easy comparison and style review.

Inside the Style Browser, you can rotate, pan and zoom the 3D viewport to inspect all colorway results.

3.3 Free Colorway Combination on Import (V9.1)
You can freely select color combinations when importing garments with colorways into the same project.
Note: Selection is only available during import and cannot be modified afterwards. When adding a colorway‑enabled file directly into an empty project, you may pick colors to open; only the selected colors will be loaded.

IV. Colorway Export
4.1 Export Colorway File
Use the SCO format to export files that contain colorway data.

4.2 OBJ Format and Colorways
The OBJ format does not support direct colorway export. To export OBJ files, export each colorway individually on its respective page; one OBJ file will be generated for each colorway.
4.3 Create Colorways for Imported External OBJ
To create colorways for an externally‑imported OBJ file, import the OBJ via [Add Garment], then perform colorway operations inside the software.
V. Colorway and Script Automation (V9.1)
V9.1 adds script‑based rendering for specified colorways. Python scripts can batch‑render multiple colorway schemes to greatly improve rendering efficiency.

Application Scenario: When batch‑exporting renderings for multiple colorways, script automation saves substantial manual‑operation time.
