Purpose:

Generate indicator lines based on the current mouse position as a reference for modifying the pattern When the user moves an edge or vertex, the indicator line has an adsorption effect on the vertex location.

Operation Path:

Home ▶ Edit Pattern ▶ Right-click menu ▶ Generate Crosshair/Generate Normal Line

2D Floating Bar ▶ Measurement ▶ Ruler (Drag)

Operation Instructions:

  1. The “Generate Indicator Line” secondary menu on edges includes 5 options:

Straight Line, Parallel to X-Axis, Parallel to Y-Axis, Tangent, Normal.

The right-click menu on points only supports Parallel to X-Axis and Parallel to Y-Axis.

  1. When the ruler is enabled in the 2D window, indicator lines can be dragged out from the rulers on both sides.

  2. In the 2D scene, the indicator line's layer is by default placed below the pattern piece, allowing the pattern piece’s vertices to remain movable when the indicator line overlaps with them.

Note: When the “Adsorption to Edge” feature is turned off, the indicator line will no longer snap to vertices.
