Create Filling Pattern

发布于:2024-09-04

Purpose:

Create a lining with the same shape as the current pattern as the lining for the Filling Pattern

Operation Path:

Start ▶ Select/Move ▶Pattern Right-click Menu▶ Create Lining ▶ Create Filling Pattern

Operation Instructions:

Create Filling Pattern allows users to control the pressure effect of the Filler, Weight and Quilting Distance;

After selecting the pattern, choose the Filler, inputting the Weight and the Quilting Distance, click "Simulate" to obtain the Filling effect of the pattern;

When setting the Weight for multiple patterns, the Weight will be allocated according to the pattern's area.

Weight:

The larger the Weight, the greater the pressure, and looks fluffier.

Quilting Distance:

the smaller the Quilting Distance, the greater the pressure, and looks fluffier.

  • Custom Filling Material: Menu Bar [Home] ▶ Select/Move ▶ Choose the pattern piece to be filled ▶ Property Editor ▶ Filler ▶ Custom

  1. When selecting the "Custom" mode, you need to manually set the "Pressure" and "Thickness" parameters. The thickness refers to the total simulated thickness of the back side of the pattern piece. By default, the initial pressure values for both the outer and lining fabrics are set to 0.

  2. When switching from "Duck/Goose Down" mode to "Custom", the related parameters will be automatically linked (as they can be converted). However, if switching back from "Custom" to "Filler" mode, the data will not be linked, the thickness information will be lost, and the filling data will remain unchanged regardless of pressure variations.

  3. When converting the filling amount into pressure, the internal pressure of the pattern piece is negative, while the front-side pressure is positive. When editing again, both positive and negative pressures will be adjusted simultaneously, and the pressure range should be kept between 0 and 100.

  • Thickness: Thickness is a custom parameter setting in the down filling feature, used to simulate the additional expansion effect outside the filling material.

After setting the pressure for the custom filling, if the expansion effect of the filled pattern piece does not meet expectations, you can adjust the thickness setting to add additional filling thickness, thereby optimizing the expansion effect of the filled pattern piece.

The Thickness function helps address the following issues in down jacket filling effects:

  1. Uneven filling

  2. Poor filling effect when quilting lines are too narrow

  • Supports adding filling to segmented pattern pieces

    Supports localized filling for segmented pattern pieces and allows custom filling materials. Each segmented part can be edited independently to adjust the filling effect—for example, some down jackets require specific areas to remain unfilled.

    Operation Method:

    Add Filling to Segmented Pattern Pieces

  1. Home ▶ Edit Pattern ▶ Select the internal line to be segmented ▶ Property Editing Window ▶ Segment Pattern

  2. Home ▶ Select/Move ▶ Right-click the pattern piece in the 2D window that needs filling ▶ Property Editor ▶ Simulation Properties ▶ Filling Material ▶ Enable Segmentation Support

  3. In the 3D window, select the corresponding segmented pattern piece to adjust its filling effect.
