Instructions

Marker Types

Fabric Marker

Marker making based on the selected fabric, following the traditional marking workflow. When physical fabric already exists,For generating marker files for printing/cutting (e.g., PLT, HPGL),Suitable for: solid-color fabrics, pre-dyed or pre-printed fabrics

All-Pattern Marker

Creates markers using all patterns from the current 3D model, independent of fabric information.Output for fabric printing / layout printing.Suitable for: sports jerseys, placement-print styles, digital printing workflows

  • By default, Style3D’s built-in marking system is used.

  • If a Super Marker dongle is detected, the interface will show a tooltip, and the system will automatically switch to Super Marker.

For multi-repeat fabrics, users can redefine the repeat mode during marking to achieve the desired final output effect.

Marker-related parameters can be configured in the Property Editor, including spacing, buffer, rotation, alignment, and collision settings.

Provides export options for marker results.

Allows users to show or hide different elements of marker patterns to preview the final output effect.

When performing manual marking, enabling this feature allows the system to detect whether any pattern pieces overlap or intersect.

Displays:Average fabric consumption per garment, Overall marker utilization rate,Useful for evaluating material cost and marker efficiency.

Instructions

Reset Based on 2D Position

Arrange all pattern pieces in the marker according to their positions in the 2D window.

Refresh Image

After pattern graphics or textures are modified, click this tool to refresh and update them instantly.

Marker Settings

Fabric

Edit information for the current marker fabric, including shrinkage, fabric width, texture offset, and fabric style.

Seam Allowance Information

Edit seam allowance content for the marker pattern pieces, including display settings, font style, and placement of seam allowance labels.

Raw Seam

  • Default: Off

  • When enabled, the marker algorithm arranges patterns based on the outer fray-edge boundary.

  • The following parameters become available and can be customized:

    • Fray Region Width (mm)

    • Fray Edge Width (mm)

    • Fray Line Color

Super Marker

Supports integration with the Super Marker system to improve marker utilization.
(Please contact your representative to purchase this feature.)

Max Nest Time (min)

  • Default: 0.5;

Range: [0, 60], one decimal.;Indicates the maximum search time after clicking “Start”.When the time is reached, the system returns the best result found so far and stops searching.

The default value can be customized in user preferences.

Grain Direction

  • 1-way
Marker searches only in the vertical direction aligned with the grainline.

  • 2-way
Searches in both grainline-up and grainline-down directions.

  • Any angle
Marker is not restricted by grain direction.
(Suitable for fabrics without directional constraints.)

Pattern Spacing (cm)

  • Default: 0

  • Range: [0, 10], one decimal.

  • Defines the minimum distance allowed between pattern pieces during marking.

Marker Type

  • Mixed-size Marker

  • Single-Size Marker

  • Group-based Marker

Number of Garment

  • Current

    • “Total” is editable, range [1, 100].

Marker generates based on the selected number of garments.

  • Graded

    • Displays quantity input for each size, range [0, 100], default 0.

“Total” becomes non-editable and is calculated automatically from all sizes.
      (As shown in the illustration.)

Information

Display only, not editable.
Width shows the current marker width; height shows the current marker height; utilization represents the percentage of total pattern area relative to the marker area, displayed to two decimal places.

Export Marker File

Substance | Style3D Studio Help Center

Supported export formats include TIF, PDF, PNG, and JPG.

  • TIF: Suitable for marker printing.

  • PDF: Supports preserving vector paths, ideal for printing and cutting.

  • PNG / JPG: Can be used for printing or secondary image editing

Single-size Marker

When performing Single-size Marker, patterns of the same size can be nested together.
This feature is only available when using Super Marker.

Mixed-size Marker

Single-size Marker

Operation Method:Assets▶Marker▶Settings▶Property Editor▶Marker Type(Mixed-Marker、Single-size Marker、Grouped Marker)

Application Scenarios: Allows patterns of the same size to be nested together, making subsequent sorting more efficient.

Staggered arrangement settings in Super Marker

Allows users to set the spacing between adjacent sizes (or groups) when performing size-based or grouped nesting.

Operation Method:Assets▶Marker▶settings▶Property Editor- Marker Type▶Single-size Marker▶Stagger value

Stagger value:1cm

Stagger value:20cm
