How to Use Third-Party Garment Files in Studio

Garment File Export Specifications

This specification uses Style3D Studio as an example. Please refer to it and perform similar operations in third-party software.

Export Targets

  • OBJ/FBX files

  • GLB material/fabric files


OBJ/FBX File Export Steps

Image Demenstration

  1. UV Editing: Flatten garment pattern UVs using the UV tools, and optionally arrange them with the auto-layout tool.

  1. Export the file in OBJ format.

  1. Configure export settings:
    a. Select the export target according to your needs (generally select All Patterns and All Assets).
    b. For fabric thickness, choose Thin.
    c. Select Merge All and check Merge Sewing First Vertices.
    d. Check Auto Rename Mesh and Unified UV Coordinates.

  1. Complete the OBJ/FBX export.

GLB Export Steps

  1. Choose GLB as the save format

  1. Import Obj/FBX as Garment and Render via iWish:

To include a model, export the model separately as FBX from the original software and import it.

  1. Import Obj/FBX as Garment, Re-simulate on Studio Avatar, and Render via iWish:

To retain original fabric physics, import the fabric, select panels in the scene, and apply the fabric.

  1. Import Obj/FBX as Garment, Generate Patterns, Replace fabrics, Modify Avatar Poses, and Render via iWish.
